THE TASK

Travel to Dhagahbuur and build a documentary around its small but stubborn public library. We sat with the librarians, the regulars, the kids who treat the place like a second home, and the elders who remember when it didn't exist.

The brief was to show how one quiet building can hold the reading life of an entire town, and to make a film that argued without saying it out loud that libraries are infrastructure, not decoration.

RESULTS

A documentary film that reframed a regional library as a civic landmark. It travelled past Dhagahbuur, opened conversations about literacy investment in the Somali region, and gave the library something it had never had before a story it could hand to anyone who walked through the door.
